Daikin Air conditioning, one of the worlds and Australia’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of domestic and commercial air conditioning products. Daikin Australia Manufacturing is a successful operation, but it strives to be world’s best practice. Low Operator engagement was holding back innovation and the execution of continuous improvement strategies.

Efficiency Works were engaged to:

  • Improve engagement.
  • Instill a culture of Continuous Improvement.

These objectives were successfully achieved through:

Certified Competitive Systems and Practices Training: All Operational Supervisory staff and several frontline operators were selected to take part in comprehensive change management and continuous improvement training. The training consisted of ten subject taught, in-house, over a period of 12 months.

Outcomes

Engagement increased significantly:

  • Immediate results through practical application of theory to the workplace.
  • Provided the knowledge and tools to underpin sustained improvements such as Structure Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis are now part of everyday life.
  • Galvanized the leadership team and overcome silo thinking.
  • Enhanced engagement, trust, and participation throughout the organisation.
  • Several non-participants asked to be involved in projects and to be selected for next round of training.
